Episode 2:: Act 2

Review of Act 1: A review of the first episode, Act 1, with clips from it. Usagi introduces herself while a clip of her singing karaoke plays. After meeting the stuffed Luna plushie, Usagi transformed into the Sailor Suited Bishoujo Senshi, Sailormoon. A clip of her defeating the first youma (monster) to protect Naru. A shot of the other senshi flashes on the screen and Usagi says that she still has to find the other senshi.

--Opening Credits--

The Dark Kingdom: The title screen for "Act 2" appears with a background of the Dark Kingdom. "Jadeite," says Queen Beryl as he stands bowed before her. The queen asks him if it's true that one of the Sailor Senshi has awakened. Jadeite replies, "yes, her name is Sailormoon." Queen Beryl looks shocked and asks if that girl has dared appear before her again. She then says "they must be trying to...." Queen Beryl tells Jadeite that he is to continue collecting energy for the time being. The queen then looks down to her left hand and a whitish-purple ball of light appears and shoots towards Jadeite. Jadeite catches it and the ball of light turns into a brown crystal. Queen Beryl tells him to continue collecting energy so that the day of destruction for the earth will come. A picture of the earth being enveloped by blue energy appears and then a close up of Queen Beryl's face as she says that it will be the destruction of everything.

Crown Karaoke: At Crown Karaoke, the desk clerk [Motoki], is watching his pet turtle that is in a cage. He puts his finger against the glass and laughs. He is interrupted from his looking at the turtle by a girl saying "Hai (yes)" and holding out a card. Motoki looks up and says "welcome." The girl is Usagi and she tells him to look at the card she is holding. The card says "Passport, "1 year pass," and "Crown Karaoke" on it and has a picture of Luna's head in the middle. Motoki seems a little confused, but tells Usagi to go in. Usagi replies, "arigato (thank you)" and walks away. Motoki watches her leave and then looks even more confused and asks himself "we have one year passes?"

Crown's Secret Room: Usagi takes a quick glance over her shoulder at Motoki who fell for the pass and walks to the second glass-paneled door on the left. After she opens the door and walks through, the door disappears from the wall. As Usagi enters the room she says, "sugoi!" (cool) and walks down the white stairs to the room below. The room has blue carpeting, a white table with colored chairs in the middle, and a stage area with a new flat-paneled karaoke machine. Usagi throws down her school bag, in which Luna was sitting, and Luna mumbles an "ow." On the side of the room is a shelf with jars of candy, popcorn, and those little vending machine toys, some small colored glass bottles, a fake plant, and a yellow lava lamp. After commenting on how nice it looks, Usagi runs over to the karaoke machine and picks up the songbook that has a cute picture of Luna in a crescent moon on the front with the title "Luna Kara" and says that it contains 50,000 selections.         She asks Luna if she made all of this. Luna says that she's just borrowing the space and only Usagi and the other Senshi can enter. Usagi opens the karaoke book and flips to a page for Aino Minako's new album, "Venus." As Usagi intently stares at the page, Luna tells her that they can talk in secret here and reminds her that their mission is to seal away the enemy. Luna says that in order to get rid of the enemy, they must find the princess and the Ginzuishou (Silver Crystal). As the camera focuses on the CGI (computer generated image) Luna, we hear a snapshot noise and Luna turns around. Usagi has transformed with the cell phone and is now wearing a leather jacket, a mini-skirt, a red t-shirt, black stockings, giant black boots, and has her hair pulled into a side ponytail. Luna asks her what she is doing and Usagi says that she saw this really cool person on the street. Usagi runs over to the karaoke machine and starts playing with the buttons, turning on the “C"C'est la Vie" song. Luna tries to protest Usagi's use of the transformation device, but Usagi says that all of this is hard for her to understand. As Usagi looks back at the karaoke screen, Luna says that the enemy is stealing human energy and making it evil and it is Usagi's job to protect the people.         Just as Usagi was about to start singing, she yells and throws down the mike and grabs her bag. Usagi explains to Luna that she forgot about the test she has tomorrow. Usagi pours the stuff from her bag onto the table and starts rummaging through papers. Luna has an exasperated expression and says that they have to find the other senshi soon.

Juuban School: Shots of the outside of Juuban Middle School. On the wall, the rankings for the 2nd year (8th grade) mid-terms are posted. Usagi and Naru-chan are looking up their scores. Naru-chan is in 15th place and Usagi congratulates her. Naru-chan said it was just luck. Usagi looks up her score and finds out that it's not so good. She gets upset and squats on the ground and says that her mother's going to be mad again. Naru-chan points out that Mizuno Ami is once again first. Usagi says that Mizuno-san is amazing and looks over at where Ami is standing. Usagi notices that Ami doesn't look very happy. Two other classmates come up to Usagi and Naru and say that of course Mizuno-san doesn't look happy, she's always first; all she does is study. Then the girls mention that Mizuno goes to the famous Alt Seminar [Cram School]. All during this time, Usagi is still squatting on the ground while the girls talk with Naru above her. The girls say that Mizuno doesn't care about having friends. Usagi stands up, points to Mizuno, and asks "what about those people?" Two girls are standing around Ami asking her if they can study with her. One of the classmates that was talking to Usagi and Naru says that Mizuno's mother is a famous doctor and that's the only reason why those other girls are talking to Mizuno. Usagi tells them to be quiet, Mizuno will hear them. Ami walks away and Usagi looks back up at the rank board and says that Mizuno is so smart that she is worlds away from her.

Lunch Time in the Classroom: Usagi's class is eating lunch in their classroom. Usagi, with a small fork in hand, sneaks around the classroom, ready to pounce on something good. She stabs a meatball from one of her friend's lunch containers and runs away as the girl stands up and yells, "Usagi!" Usagi sits in a seat next to her and they all laugh. Meanwhile, Ami is sitting at her pink desk all by herself. She takes out a book, looks upset, and then gets up and takes her white bag and the book with her. Usagi watches her go with a curious look.

Roof-top Dinning: On the school's fenced in roof, Ami is eating sandwiches and reading her book. She stairs off into space looking lonely and then continues to read her mathematics book. Next to her are a store bought drink (in one of those coffee-type cups) and sore bought sandwiches with the crusts cut off. We hear a squeaky noise, and Luna comes walking across the roof. She peeps around the corner at Ami and says that "she knew she felt the presence of someone else other than Usagi. Perhaps..." Then Luna's crescent moon flashes.

Walking Home: A shot of the sign for Juuban Middle School and then one of Ami walking home over the bridge. Ami stops about halfway over and looks down. On the ground is Luna. Ami looks around, perplexed. Cut to Usagi walking home. Usagi waves goodbye to Naru and start across the bridge. She sees Ami, who is now going over the Luna plushie on the ground. Usagi asks herself, "Luna? What?" Ami leans over the Luna doll and asks her, "did your owner loose you?" She picks Luna up off the ground and brushes her off. Usagi watches as Ami brushes off a spot on the bridge wall, puts Luna down gently, and tells Luna that if she waits there, her owner will find her. Usagi walks up smiling and calls, "Mizuno-san, thanks! That's mine." Ami looks down and says that she found it on the ground and then starts to walk away. Usagi picks Luna up and hurries after Ami. Usagi tells Ami that she's so nice to stuffed animals and Ami replies that it is because the stuffed animal is a stranger. Usagi laughs and tells Mizuno-san that she's odd. The two walk through the streets. Only background music can be heard, but Usagi is obviously talking a mile a minute. Ami stops and tells Usagi that she has juku (cram school). Usagi smiles and waves as Ami walks away.

Listening to "C'est La Vie" Ami hears "C'est La Vie" playing at a store and stops to look at a poster advertising the album "Venus." Usagi runs up and asks Ami if she likes Aino Minako. Usagi says that she loves her too. Ami replies that Aino's voice helps her study. Usagi scratches her head and says that they like her for completely different reasons. Usagi asks Ami if she's bought the second album yet. When Ami shakes her head, "no," Usagi digs in her bag and gets out an MD (mini-disk) and hands it to Ami, saying, "I've already made a copy of it, so here, Ami-chan!" Usagi also tells Ami to call her "Usagi." Ami takes the disk, says goodbye, and walks off. Usagi calls after Ami that she'll see her tomorrow ad that they should eat lunch together sometime. As Usagi watches Ami walk off she says to herself that Ami-chan is different from what everyone else says she's like; she's fun, just like a normal girl. Luna jumps down from Usagi's arms saying "She's not a normal girl." Usagi asks Luna what she means and Luna says, with her crescent moon glowing blue, that Ami is the second senshi. "Really?" asks Usagi, smiling.

Alt Seminar: Shot of a tall skyscraper. The sign over the automatic glass door says "Alt Seminar." Amy walks into the building. She is wearing a drab conservative outfit- a knee-length skirt, white shoes, a blouse, and a bag on her left elbow. As she walks through the lobby a voice calls out, "Mizuno-san!" Ami's teacher (a woman) walks over to her and tells Ami that she got the top score on the last exam and if she continues like this she'll be all set for both high school and university exams. Ami and her teacher walk past two boys who are standing at a magazine rack and they point at Ami. Ami tells her teacher that she is wants to become a doctor. The two step onto the escalator. The teacher asks her why she wants to be a doctor so badly, and Ami says that her mother wants her to and she wants to make her mother happy. Her teacher says that she's a good girl. Ami replies that all she can do is study. Ami opens up her bag and searches through it, takes out the Venus MD, and remembers what Usagi said to her about doing lunch some time. Ami smiles and continues up the escalator.

Tsukino House: It night time. In Usagi's room, Usagi is telling Luna that it is lucky that Ami-chan is also a senshi; Ami's smart, cute, and a fan of Aino Minako. Luna replies that intelligence is something that they are currently lacking. Usagi throws her pillow at Luna and then turns out the lights. Usagi jumps into bed and says that she can't wait to tell Ami. She lays down on her pillow and Luna squeezes out from underneath her. Luna shakes her head and then asks Usagi if she can take anything seriously.

Youma at Alt Seminar: Ami-chan leaves Alt Seminar listening to the Venus MD and smiling. People are walking by and then their images fade and it gets darker, signifying that it is now later on that night. In the lobby is a white pedestal. On the top of the pedestal is a little brown clay statue of a man and his dog. Jadeite walks towards the statue and places his stone next to it. A light shoots from his stone and the statue morphs into a youma (monster). The youma walks towards the escalators and Ami's teacher screams.

--Commercial Break--

Juuban School, Ami's a senshi!: Ami-chan walks through the school gates. She is carrying a white card-board box in her right hand and her school bag in her left. Usagi runs up to her yelling, "Ami-chan!" Usagi goes up to Ami and tells her to hurry up and come wit her; she ran all the way to school because she was so excited. Usagi pulls Ami along. The two are standing on a stairway, and Ami asks, "Ah? Me?" Usagi gets excited and tells Ami-chan that she's a chosen senshi and tells Ami that they should fight together from now on. Usagi smiles, then says that Luna, the cat, will bring Ami an item that will allow her to transform and the transformation will be splendid. Ami looks down at the ground and Usagi looks at her. Usagi says, "Ami-chan, I'm sorry." Ami, still looking down, says "I see, Tsukino-san, you only wanted to be my friend because I'm a senshi." Ami-chan almost looses her grip on the white box she was carrying. Usagi asks Ami what she means. Ami says that she doesn't want to be a senshi. Usagi looks shocked. Ami explains that she's busy studying and has cram school. Ami says bye and then runs up the stairs, leaving a bewildered Usagi behind. Usagi calls her, but Ami doesn't look back.

Classroom Lunch Time: Some boys run through the hallway outside of Usagi's classroom. Inside, Usagi, Naru, and another girl are sitting at their pink desks eating lunch. Usagi looks over her shoulder sadly at Ami-chan's empty desk.

Roof-top Lunch for One: Ami-chan is eating lunch and reading a book by herself on the roof again. She is sitting on one green cement block and the white box from earlier is on another, far away from her. Ami looks over at the box and lowers her book. She opens the box and inside are two fancy custard snacks (she had been planning on sharing with Usagi). Ami says to herself, "I'm used to it..."

Usagi's Room: Usagi walks into her room, puts her bag down, and sits at her desk while complaining about Ami not wanting to be a senshi. Luna is on a clothes dresser and tells Usagi that she'll try to convince Ami. As Luna jumps down, Usagi says that they shouldn't force Ami if she doesn't want to join. But Luna says that being a senshi is Ami's mission and since there's no one else to take her place, she'll just have to be one. Usagi tells Luna that it's mean to force Ami-chan to be a senshi and she is completely against it. Usagi stalks over to her doorway, but before she can leave, the door opens. Ikuko-mama comes in the room in and holds up a piece of paper saying, "here." Usagi is confused and Ikuko explains that it's a map to Usagi's cram school. She's been worried about Usagi's grades, so she signed her up. Usagi's classes start today. Usagi starts to complain, and Ikuko, still holding up the paper, says that Usagi has no right to complain with the grades she's been getting.

Alt Seminar Cram School Class: In Ami's cram school class, the teacher is discussing a math problem that involves triangles and coordinates. All the students are carefully taking notes, but Ami is sitting in the back looking at the "Venus" MD that Usagi gave her. Ami takes out her player, and slips the disk in while the teacher continues talking into a handheld microphone at the front of the room. The teacher tells the students to pay close attention to what she is about to say. All the kids look up and the image of the statue youma shines through her body. The students begin to feel sleepy; their eyes start to close. Ami-chan remains unaffected as she sits at her desk listening to "C'est La Vie." Ami looks around her.

Cross-path, in search of the Cram school: Usagi is on a covered bridge. Usagi looks down at the map in her hand, then up at a tall building, and says, "Alt Seminar..." Luna, who is being carried by Usagi, comments that that is Ami's cram school and says that it's a perfect chance to try to convince Ami. Usagi tells Luna that she will not do that, and starts walking off. Luna says, "Usagi-chan!" and Usagi says "No!!" just as she runs into someone. It's the guy that she met at the jewelry show before [Mamoru]. They look at each other and he says, "the model wannabe" and tells her to watch where she's going. Usagi says he should watch where he's going and stalks off in the opposite direction.         The man bends down and picks up the map that Usagi dropped, and tells her that she's going the wrong way; her school is in the opposite direction. Usagi runs back and looks at the map in his hand. "Alt Seminar" is circled in red pen. She looks at he sign that says "Alt Seminar" on a nearby building and then to the sign that the man [Mamoru] was pointing--"Yoikono Nakayoshi Gakushuu Kyoushitsu" ("This Nice Friend Study Classroom"). Usagi grabs the map and asks "It's this one? Mama...how could you?..." The man leans over and says that it's the perfect place for Usagi and then walks away. Usagi watches him walk away and says how angry she is that he mocked her. Luna makes a face and says that she shouldn't have believed that Usagi-chan would go to the same school as Ami-chan. Usagi looks down and says, "What was that?" Luna's crescent moon starts to glow red and she and Usagi turn around and look at the Alt Seminar building.

Alt Seminar Classroom: In Ami-chan's class, all the other students fall asleep on their desks while Ami continues to listen to "C'est La Vie." Ami looks around her and asks, "what's going on?" The possessed teach comes and pulls the microphone out of Ami's ear, saying, that Ami can't listen to music during class. Ami stands up and says "sensei!"(teacher). Ami tries to explain, but the teacher flings the MD player to the ground and it smashes against the wall. The teacher then says that she has no choice; she'll have to drain Ami's energy first. Ami looks confused and in the reflection of her glasses, we can see the teacher transform into the statue youma. The youma reaches out to grab Ami, but she runs away. Ami first tries to run up the stairway that is covered with fainted people, but then goes to the down stairs. The youma runs after her and lunges, but it misses and falls to the ground. The youma glows and the teacher's body appears next to that of the youma. Ami then realizes that her teacher was being used. She backs up the stairs and the youma follows her.

Cross-path Between Buildings: Usagi is running along the cross-path. Up ahead of her she sees Ami-chan. Ami falls to the ground and the youma is right behind her. Luna yells, "Usagi-chan!" and then jumps down from Usagi's arms. Usagi yells, "Moon Prism Power! Make-up!" and transforms into Sailormoon. Meanwhile, the youma has backed Ami up against the glass-railing of the cross-path. It reaches out to her, but before it can grab her, Sailormoon yells "stop!" Sailormoon reaches up and takes her tiara off of her head and yells "Moon Tiara Boomerang!" The boomerang hits the youma and causes it to smash against a pillar and flicker. The youma grunts and then grabs Ami-chan and the two fall over the age to the ground below that is three stories below.

--Commercial Break--

Over the Railing: Sailormoon yells, "Ami-chan!" and jumps over the railing, grabbing Ami's arm. The youma crashes to the ground below, breaking into pieces. With her right hand, Sailormoon is holding onto the railing and with her left hand, she is holding onto Ami. Ami looks very frightened as she looks at the ground below. Sailormoon asks Ami-chan if she's all right and Ami asks her if she is Tsukino-san. As Sailormoon shakes her head yes, the dog part of the statue youma appears on the ground below, barking. It opens its mouth and a pink light shines on the regular statue youma's pieces, returning the youma to life. The youma looks up at Sailormoon and Ami and then walks towards them. Sailormoon's grip starts to slip and Ami-chan says, "Tsukino-san, make me a senshi."         Sailormoon looks down at Ami and tells her that she's not going to make her be something she doesn't want to be. Then Sailormoon says that she'll take care of this problem. Sailormoon tries to pull them up, but the statue youma and the dog youma are getting closer. Ami yells to Sailormoon that she wants to do it; she wants to fight along with Tsukino-san. Luna walks over to the railing on the floor below and tells Ami-chan to catch. Luna's crescent moon glows yellow and a light shoots towards Ami. Ami catches the light and a silver watch-bracelet appears on her left wrist. Just as she looks at the new item, Sailormoon looses her grip and Ami-chan falls.         Before she hits the ground, Ami yells out "Mercury Power Make-up!" and transforms. She lands safely in the fountain below, and announces herself, "Sailor Senshi of water and knowledge, Sailormercury! On behalf of Mercury, I'll punish you!" Sailormoon lets go of the railing and also lands safely on the ground. The two clasp hands and smile at each other. The two statue youma jump down from the cross-path and surround the senshi.         Sailormoon and Sailormercury twirl around, while upbeat background music plays, in order to dodge the youma. The two youma crash into each other and the senshi run circles around them. Sailormoon leaps out of the statue youma's way and takes out the Moon Wand. She yells, "Moon Twilight Flash!" and destroys the statue youma. Sailormercury leaps out of the way of the dog-statue youma and it crashes into a wall. Sailormercury then calls out, "Mercury Aqua Mist!" and destroys the youma.         Sailormoon tells Sailormercury that they did it, but then asks her if she's alright with being a senshi. Mercury says yes and that she wanted to fight with Tsukino. Sailormoon says that it's the same with her; she wanted to fight with Sailormercury because she was Ami-chan, not because she was a senshi. Sailormercury says "Arigatou"(thank you) and they smile at each other.         Meanwhile, on one of the floors above, Tuxedo Kamen watches them and says, "Sailormoon and Sailormercury is it...?"

In a pile of leaves: Outside, in a place surrounded by trees, Jadeite places a clear crystal in a pile of leaves. He then says that this time he will collect energy. The crystal glows and the leaves blow around in the air.

Shrine Maiden: Inside of a shrine, a miko (shrine maiden) [Hino Rei] in traditional shrine maiden dress (white top, red bottom) sits in front of a fire. She leans forwards and looks into the flames. "It's coming," she says. Suspenseful music plays as she reiterates that something ominous is coming.

Next Episode Preview: Usagi and Naru are in their classroom talking to other girls about how there is another missing person, the sixth young girl so far. A clip of a girl being taken by a youma and screaming. A clip of Usagi and Ami dressed as miko and asking about the miko at Hikawa Jinja (Shrine) and her powers. Next a clip of Luna holding up a sign, then a clip of Usagi running to the miko yelling, "Rei-san!" Rei throws an ofuda (paper enchantment) at them and yells "Akuryou Taisan"(evil spirits begone). They ask if it could be a youma as a clip of Sailormoon and Sailormars fighting the youma shows. Sailormars says that she finally knows why she has these powers.
